Senior Business Development Manager

We’re seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to spearhead new embedded distribution opportunities for Lemonade’s fast-growing insurance products—Car, Pet, Renters, and Homeowners.In this high-impact, cross-functional role, you’ll help shape and execute Lemonade’s embedded distribution strategy by building key relationships across a wide range of verticals. From pet care businesses and property management platforms to fintech companies, employer benefit providers, and retail ecosystems—you’ll work to create new, scalable ways for customers to discover and purchase Lemonade insurance.In this role you’llDevelop and execute Lemonade’s partnership growth strategy across various channels, including pet services, real estate, fintech, retail, and HR techLead cross-functional partnership initiatives by working closely with internal teams such as R&D, Product, Legal, Finance, and MarketingSource, evaluate, and close high-value embedded distribution partnerships that expand access to Lemonade’s core products (Car, Pet, Renters, and Homeowners)Own end-to-end business development cycle for your channels—from pitching and negotiation to onboarding and activationAct as a thought partner to leadership, delivering actionable insights on trends, whitespace opportunities, and competitive activityWhat you’ll need5+ years minimum of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or GTM roles, preferably at a high-growth tech company or InsurTechBA Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related fieldDemonstrated ability to close complex partnerships and manage stakeholders at all levelsExperience working across multiple verticals or with platform-based distribution models, a strong plusExceptional communication and relationship-building skillsStrong organizational instincts, attention to detail, and comfort working with contracts and cross-functional teamsA passion for building innovative partnerships that drive growthAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, high-autonomy, collaborative environment—across time zones and evolving prioritiesAbility to work in our NYC office 3 days per week Enthusiasm about learning and adapting to the exciting world of AI – a commitment to exploring this field is a fundamental part of our culture*Please note that we are unable to sponsor applicants for work visasLemonade's US base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 - $145,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
