Senior Automation Test Engineer
Overview
Role Summary
Seeking a skilled and client-focused Senior Quality Engineer with strong hands-on experience in UI, API, Mobile, and Mainframe automation. The role involves designing, developing, and continuously maintaining automation test scripts across multiple applications and platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for UI, API, Mobile, and Mainframe testing.
Collaborate closely with developers and business stakeholders to define, review, and refine test cases and Gherkin feature files.
Implement reusable utility methods and modular step definitions to promote scalability and maintainability.
Develop, execute, debug, and analyze automated test scripts to ensure quality and stability.
Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub and Jenkins.
Analyze automation test results, identify defects, log issues, and follow through with development teams to closure.
Manage test data and environment configurations to ensure consistent and reliable test execution.
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and contribute to continuous QA process improvement.
To do effort estimates for Automation scripting
Required Skills and Experience:
Strong hands-on expertise in Selenium, RestAssured and Appium with JAVA.
Additional experience with Node.js-based automation frameworks such as WebDriverIO and Axios.
Solid understanding of BDD using Cucumber, TestNG, Git, and Maven.
Experience integrating automation with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and generating reports using Extent and Allure.
Good knowledge of Agile methodologies, QE best practices, and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
Strong analytical, communication, and technical documentation skills.
Familiarity with cloud-based testing platforms such as Lambda Test and Sauce Labs.
Nice to have experience with performance testing tools like JMeter.
Basic knowledge of SQL CRUD operations and experience working with Mainframe terminal screens.
