Senior Actuarial Analyst

We’re looking for a talented Senior Actuarial Analyst who is eager to revolutionize car or home insurance.In this role, you’ll be managing rate levels, building advanced pricing tools, and bringing actuarial discipline to all facets of Lemonade Car or Home—and working on everything from distribution to underwriting, claims, and everything in between. You’ll leverage competitive data and data science to optimize our customers’ experience and ensure fairness and accuracy in pricing.In this role you’llBecome an owner and expert on our car or home insurance state rating plans and rate indicationsCraft rate filing support for new machine learning modelsIdentify areas for pricing and underwriting action based on ongoing monitoring of resultsBuild a knowledge base of competitor rating strategies and the overall competitive landscapeFurther your own actuarial education through CAS exams and industry research while applying those learnings on the jobWhat you’ll need3+ years of P&C actuarial experience; near ACAS or greater preferredBachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related fieldGeneral knowledge of data science programming languages such as Python or R (preferred), and proficiency in database query tools such as SQLPrior personal lines pricing experience is a definite plusAbility to work remotelyEnthusiasm about learning and adapting to the exciting world of AI – a commitment to exploring this field is a fundamental part of our culture*Please note that we are unable to sponsor applicants for work visasUnfortunately, we cannot consider applicants from these states; Colorado, California, Montana, Hawaii, New Mexico and Puerto Rico.Lemonade's US base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000-$130,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
