Senior Accountant (Remote)
Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of financial statements. Schedule Requirement: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). The successful candidate must be able to work and maintain consistent availability from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Standard Time (CST) to ensure seamless collaboration with clients and team members. Duties and Responsibilities: β Meet with team members to ensure clientβs monthly close meets deadlines β Close out clientsβ books monthly using QBO β Establish Monthly close processes. β Review the Client's books and document the close process. β Documentation by preparing written documents and videos using GAAP accounting best practices and online tools for efficiency. β Training staff on the Monthly Close Process β Perform monthly close tasks for multiple clients. β Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance. β Review staffβs monthly close work before sending it to the client. β Communicate in Slack, by phone, or by video meeting on client open items to resolve issues. β Ability to resolve complex accounting and QuickBooks issues in a timely manner. β Communicate with the clientsβ CPAs on tax issues that come up during the year. β Be proactive, be a resource, and train other team members on GAAP accounting best practices and QuickBooks issues when they arise. β Schedule and train new team members regarding company processes and procedures including being a resource to assist new team members in delivering accurate deliverables to clients. β Analyze and review financials in a monthly video meeting with clients. β Answer emails and phone calls from clients who have questions about their accounting and/or reports. β Check email and Slack regularly and fill requests for reports or information during the day as needed. Respond timely to urgent requests. β Be proactive in offering our tech stack of apps that can help with the back-office efficiency of our clients and recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue. β Meet with the manager on a weekly basis by video call. Report deliverables status on client deadlines, work tasks, and scope creep issues. β Prepare sales tax returns and submit them online for clients with their approval. β Prepare 1099s for clients at year-end. β Any other duties assigned. Qualifications: Skills: β Excellent oral and written communication skills β Strong mathematical and analytical skills β Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. β Great attention to detail β Problem-solving and conflict-management skills. β Knowledge of Intuit Accounting Software and other financial software β Strong knowledge of Financial Analysis β Desire to work as a team with a result-driven approach. β Excellent judgment and critical thinking skills Experience: β CPA or Accounting Firm Experience β 5+ Years in an accounting position, reviewing financials, and training staff. β 5+ Years of QuickBooks Online job experience and other financial software.
