We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and want to revolutionize the health insurance industry. As a senior accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with the month end close, conducting internal audits, and other ad hoc tasks.The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in health insurance, excellent financial accounting and analytical skills, a bias toward action, and exceptional organizational and communication abilities. Our team moves quickly to make company-wide decisions, thus it is crucial to strike a balance between getting the details right while still moving fast. Finally, we are looking for someone eager to learn and grow with minimal supervision from senior staff.This role is based in our New York office on a hybrid basis.Key Responsibilities:Manage the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and ensure the accuracy of financial recordsAssist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and account reconciliationsEnsure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirementsSupport budgeting and forecasting processesOversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management on financial performanceCollaborate with the team to streamline financial processes and implement best practicesAssist in the preparation of tax filings and liaise with external auditorsAssist the Head of Finance/Accounting as neededQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required3+ years of accounting experienceWorking knowledge of GAAPExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalStrong numeracy and analytical skillsGood problem-solving and time-management skillsHighly organized and detail-orientedPreferred Qualifications:Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance or CPA certificationExperience working for a startupExperience with Sage IntacctExperience in the Insurance industryBig 4 accounting experience or audit experienceThe salary range for this job opportunity is $110,000 to $130,000 per year, which is the amount Angle Health anticipates paying for this position at the time of this job posting.
