Position Overview
RecruitGo is in search of a Senior Accountant based in the Philippines. Aside from your established skills and expertise, we are also looking for someone who has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing client relationships and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role involves handling multiple client portfolios, overseeing bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, VAT and Corporate Tax reporting, and providing direct support and advisory to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Direct Client Management
β Act as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, ensuring timely communication and delivery of services.
β Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by providing financial guidance and addressing accounting, tax, and compliance queries.
β Oversee the accounting activities of 17+ client accounts, ensuring deadlines are met and standards of service are upheld.
2. Bookkeeping & Accounting
β Record day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
β Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.
β Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
3. Financial Statement (FS) Reporting
β Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
β Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
β Assist in variance analysis and preparation of supporting schedules.
β Sending out financial statements.
4. VAT Reporting
β Prepare VAT workings and ensure compliance with VAT laws and regulations.
β Assist in the timely submission of VAT returns and maintaining supporting documentation.
β Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT laws and timely submissions.
β Manage VAT reconciliations and address discrepancies.
5. Corporate Tax (CT) Reporting
β Assist in gathering and organizing data for Corporate Tax filings.
β Support preparation of corporate tax computations and documentation.
β Ensure compliance with UAE CT regulations and assist with audits/queries.
β Review corporate tax computations and filings to ensure compliance with UAE CT regulations.
β Liaise with auditors and tax authorities regarding queries or assessments.
β Advise clients on corporate tax planning and compliance matters.
6. Project & Advisory Support
β Provide financial and administrative support for ad-hoc projects and process improvements.
β Assist in system implementation, automation initiatives, and other finance-related projects.
β Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of project deliverables.
Qualifications
Must-Haves:
β Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
β 3β5 years of relevant accounting experience, with exposure to client management and reporting.
β Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
β Proficiency in MS OΖ―ice (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of accounting software/ERP systems is a plus.
β Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines.
β High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
NOTE: Experience handling 20 clients.
Nice-to-Haves:
β Strong written and verbal communication skills for direct client interactions.
β Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
β Experience in managing a client portfolio within an accounting or consulting firm.
