Seasonal EA/CPA Tax Preparer – Remote (U.S. Based)

Nexus Square, a CPA firm based in Brea, CA with a focus on real estate clients, is seeking an experienced Seasonal EA/CPA Tax Preparer to support us through the upcoming tax season (January–April). This is a temporary, remote position with a strong possibility of conversion to full-time for the right fit. What You’ll Do: • Prepare and review individual and business tax returns (1040, 1065, 1120/1120S) • Meet with clients via Zoom to walk through returns, answer questions, and offer clear explanations of tax outcomes • Communicate professionally with clients and internal team members • Ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state tax regulations • Work collaboratively with firm leadership during peak season What We’re Looking For: • Current EA or CPA credential (active PTIN required) • Strong experience with U.S. tax preparation for both individuals and business entities • Excellent communication skills, especially in client interactions • Comfortable reviewing and explaining tax positions to clients • Experience with Lacerte is a plus • Remote work must be U.S.-based (no offshore candidates) Why This Role: • Temporary/seasonal role with flexible hours during tax season • Potential for full-time opportunity if it’s a great mutual fit • Ideal for professionals returning to the workforce or for those seeking a better work environment than large firm tax season pressures Compensation: • $30–$45 per hour DOE (depending on experience and credentials) • Remote / contract basis If this sounds like you or someone you know, please apply here with your resume and a brief note about your tax season availability.
