It supports Hy-Vee’s business growth and modernization needs by accelerating the adoption of technology across enterprise operations. Job Title: HST Global Software Engineer I

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Software Engineer with 2-4 years of experience in Java, Python and Shell scripting to join our team and work on various projects.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that meet the needs of our users. Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code in Java, Python and Shell scripting.
Very good knowledge of SQL/oracle. You will also be expected to learn new technologies and tools as required and deliver accordingly.
Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC) from requirements analysis to deployment.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
Working in Linux platform, Jira & Agile methodology preferred.
Need to understand the complete Business requirement and implement accordingly & technically helping the team.
Partnering with data architects and engineers to ensure an optimal data model design and knowing MDM & Data quality will be added advantages.
Maintain compliance with change control, SDLC, and development standards.
Creation and contribution to technical documentation and diagrams.
Establishes a technical vision and strategy with the team and works with the team to turn it into reality.
Emphasis on coaching and training to cultivate skill development of team members within the department.
Responsible for keeping up with industry best practices and trends.
Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve the Data ecosystem.
Experience and Education:
Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Sciences, Business Administration, or related field; or High School Degree/General Education Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
Proficient in Java, Python and Shell scripting
Experience with version control tools such as Git, SVN, etc.
Experience with databases such as, Big Query, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Team player that exhibits high energy, work flexibility, strategic thinking, collaboration, direct communication, and results orientation.
