Scientist I - ML/AI Algorithms for Multimodal Foundational Models

They are seeking a Scientist I to design machine learning methods that integrate multimodal data and model disease trajectories related to Alzheimer’s disease, contributing to a better understanding of its pathology.ResponsibilitiesConduct research, design, develop and prototype novel algorithms to model disease progression from imaging data setsHarmonize multiple imaging data modalities into a common analysis frameworkTrain large-scale models in multi-GPU environments efficientlyStay at the forefront of advances in AI for computer visionParticipate in a highly interactive and multidisciplinary environmentPublish/present findings in peer-reviewed journals/scientific conferencesSkillsPh.D. in Computer Science, Applied Math, Engineering, Computational Neuroscience, Computational Biology, or related field, or equivalent combination of degree and experienceExperience working with recent Deep Learning Architectures/Foundational ModelsExperience with building, deploying and maintaining machine learning and foundational modelsProficiency with cloud computing (AWS, GCP or Azure) and with on-prem clustersProven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environmentExperience with modeling disease heterogeneityExperience building transformer-based foundational modelsWorking knowledge of AI/ML custom libraries, AI/ML execution platformsProven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences such as CVPR/ICCV/ECCV, NeurIPS/ICLR, ICRA/RSS/CoRL/IROS, or SIGGRAPHProven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a highly collaborative environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environmentBenefitsMedicalDentalVisionBasic life insurance401k planPaid time offCompany OverviewThe Allen Institute is dedicated to answering some of the biggest questions in bioscience and accelerating research worldwide.
