SAP MM/PP Functional Consultant

Job Title: SAP Functional Consultant / Solution Architect Procurement, Planning & Materials Management Location: Pennsylvania (Onsite for 4 5 weeks, then hybrid/remote) Engagement Type: Contract 4+ months Start Date: Immediate | Travel: Expenses covered by client Overview We are seeking an experienced SAP Functional Consultant / Solution Architect specializing in Procurement, Planning (SD), and Materials Management (MM/PP) to support a major Engineer-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing client in the high-voltage power industry. This role focuses on improving material availability, production scheduling, and system efficiency within a recently implemented SAP/HANA environment. The consultant will act as a bridge between business and technical teams, driving SAP standardization, process optimization, and adoption to strengthen supply chain performance and manufacturing readiness. Key Responsibilities • Lead SAP enhancements across Procurement, Planning, and Materials Management to address material shortages and scheduling challenges. • Standardize SAP usage, eliminate manual workarounds, and optimize planning and execution processes. • Improve key performance metrics including Supplier On-Time Delivery, Material Availability, and Manufacturing Release Scheduling. • Clean up SAP backlog (exception messages, outdated master data) and implement daily task lists for buyers and schedulers. • Support inventory strategy, parameter optimization, and exception management for KPI reporting. • Deliver user training and contribute to future-state process design and technology enablement roadmap. Qualifications • 15+ years of experience in SAP MM/PP or related supply chain modules. • Proven experience leading SAP implementations or process improvement projects as a Functional Consultant or Solution Architect. • Strong knowledge of end-to-end supply chain, capacity planning, production scheduling, and material availability management. • Hands-on experience with master data management, exception handling, and automation in SAP. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Consulting experience preferred; ability to work in fast-paced, client-facing environments.
