Sales Engineer (SaaS) - North America / United Kingdom
Description: We are looking for a highly skilled and customer-focused Sales Engineer to join our growing team at Sophi by Mather. In this role, you will serve as the technical bridge between our product and prospective customers in the news media industry—translating complex capabilities into clear business value. You’ll partner closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to drive successful outcomes throughout the sales cycle. This is an ideal role for someone who combines strong technical expertise with commercial awareness and enjoys working directly with customers to solve real-world problems. Requirements: What You’ll Do • Partner with Sales team to support the full sales cycle, from discovery through close • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer needs, systems, and constraints • Deliver tailored product demos that clearly articulate business value and ROI • Design and present solution architectures aligned to customer requirements • Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and security/technical questionnaires • Act as a trusted advisor to prospects, addressing technical objections and concerns • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to relay customer feedback and influence roadmap • Support handoff to Customer Success to ensure a smooth post-sale transition What You Bring • 5–7+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer / Solutions Engineer / Pre-Sales role in a SaaS environment • Strong technical foundation (e.g., APIs, data architecture, cloud platforms, integrations) • Experience delivering polished demos and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences • Direct experience working with digital publishers, media companies, or adjacent technologies (e.g., paywalls, ad tech, audience data platforms) • Strong understanding of media business models, including subscriptions, advertising, and hybrid monetization strategies • Ability to confidently present to both technical teams and senior commercial stakeholders • Familiarity with enterprise sales cycles and complex deal structures We offer a competitive compensation package designed to attract and retain top talent.
