Role and Responsibilities: As a Retail Sales Associate in the receiving team, you will support the smooth flow of goods and supplies, ensuring accurate receiving, documentation, and storage. You will help maintain operational efficiency and uphold quality and safety standards. • Unload truck shipments, count and register them in the computer system, and stage them for storage and stocking readiness. • Operate powered pallet jacks and forklifts in compliance with OSHA and Whole Foods safety guidelines. • Inspect all new products to ensure they meet Whole Foods Market quality standards. • Conduct accurate and thorough counts to confirm each item in the order. • Label merchandise systematically for recordkeeping. • Rearrange products for proper storage and staging. • Keep the receiving area clean and free of waste by removing recyclables and rubbish. • Load recyclable materials and other goods onto transport carriers. • Accurately complete and organize all shipment documentation. • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-structured work environment. • Adhere to OSHA safety regulations and inbound door assignments. • Verify and acknowledge carrier paperwork and driver check-ins. • Perform cross-docking to transfer goods between trucks without long-term storage. • Review carrier documentation to ensure received quantities match expected quantities. • Organize products onto separate pallets for distribution. • Use identification tags on pallets for efficient put-away processes. • Rearrange items in their designated areas. • Proactively anticipate and meet guest needs to ensure satisfaction. • Perform receiving and putaway activities, including unloading, using an RF scanner to verify products, managing cross-docking, and selecting flow-through products. Required Skills and Experience: • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role. • Clear communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with team members. • Competence in managing essential equipment. • Strict adherence to Whole Foods Market protocols and procedures. • Exceptional guest service skills. • Accuracy, attention to detail, and timeliness in completing duties. • Knowledge of Whole Foods Market policies, procedures, core values, business philosophy, and quality goals. • Careful attention to paperwork to ensure accountability and compliance. • Ability to use equipment safely and effectively after proper training. • Ability to work well in a team and independently. • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Preferred Qualifications: • Warehouse experience preferred. • Must be at least 18 years old.
