Safer Gambling Manager

Overview:

As our team continues to grow, we are seeking a full-time Safer Gambling Manager to lead and strengthen our safer gambling initiatives. This role will be responsible for leading and managing the Safer Gambling Team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, promoting player protection, and developing strategies that support a safe and responsible gaming environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of safer gambling practices, regulatory frameworks, and customer risk management, along with the ability to collaborate across teams to drive a culture of responsible gaming throughout the organisation.

The position will involve working 40 hours per week, typically over four to five days, Monday through Sunday, and will include working every second weekend.

Summary of the position:

We are seeking an ambitious and proactive individual who thrives both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. This role will lead and support the Safer Gambling Team, driving the effective implementation and continuous improvement of our safer gambling policies, procedures, and customer protection initiatives.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator with the ability to clearly convey regulatory requirements and responsible gambling obligations to both customers and senior management. They will provide strong leadership and guidance to the team as they carry out detailed analysis of customer activity and engage with customers through phone and email interactions, ensuring a professional, empathetic, and customer-focused approach always.



Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a hands-on management style, actively supporting staff with complex customer, compliance, and regulatory cases

Oversee regular 1:1s, performance reviews, quality assurance reviews, and development planning with the support from team leaders. Support onboarding and continuous training of team members on safer gambling procedures and regulatory expectations. Develop and implement safer gambling policies and procedures

Maintain compliance with UK Gambling Commission, Irish and Gibraltar regulatory frameworks, and other applicable regulatory bodies

Drive continuous improvement of safer gambling controls, including but not limited to reviewing affordability, behavioural, and financial risk indicators

Support audits, regulatory reviews, and licensing requirements

Analyse player data to identify risk patterns and recommend preventative measures

Handle and respond to written customer complaints relating to safer gambling and responsible gaming concerns in line with regulatory and internal policy requirements

Stay up to date with regulatory changes, industry trends, and emerging risks

Education and Experience Required:

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related role, preferably in the gaming or financial sector.

Proven experience in a safer gambling, compliance, or responsible gaming role within the UK gambling industry

Strong understanding of UK Gambling Regulations, guidance, and expectations

5+ years of experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment.

Proven track record of developing people, improving team performance, and fostering a culture of feedback.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and deliver in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a high degree of personal accountability, integrity, and trust.

Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risk and apply sound judgment.

High level of integrity, accountability, and discretion when handling sensitive information.

Recognised relevant qualification is desirable; the company will support further certification if required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in fluent English.
