A highly respected, long-standing company within the insurance industry is in need of a Consultant to join their SaaS Procurement department which is effectively a "startup" within the organization. They are currently building this function from the ground up, and need a high-level Procurement Business Partner who is excited by a blank canvas. You we be working directly with their Director of Procurement as his first key hire, you will be the "utility player" of the department. This isn’t a role for someone who wants a rigid, pre-defined manual; it’s for a consultant who thrives on fluidity and is ready to wear many hats. One hour you might be negotiating a complex, high-stakes SaaS contract; the next, you’re collaborating with Marketing or Finance to build out foundational processes. If you want the security of an established corporate headquarters with the fast-paced, "all hands on deck" culture of a new venture, this is your next project. salary: $60 - $70 per hour shift: First work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM education: Bachelors Responsibilities • Architect procurement solutions from scratch, bringing a "builder" mindset to a newly forming department. • Negotiate complex SaaS and Cloud-based vendor contracts, leveraging a deep technical understanding to ensure pricing aligns with the full implementation lifecycle. • Navigate seamlessly between departments (Marketing, HR, Finance, Events) to act as a strategic consultant for their diverse procurement needs. • Drive the full RFX process, implementing category strategies that set the standard for the department’s future. • Analyze market insights and competitor data to proactively suggest pricing strategies and promotional activities. • Cultivate high-impact relationships with vendors, transitioning from initial sourcing to long-term partnership management. • Translate high-level stakeholder goals into prioritized procurement actions, ensuring we hit the mark for internal clients. • Execute with a "no-task-too-small" attitude, balancing high-level strategy with the hands-on research and data analysis required to move the needle.
