Who We're Looking For
The Roaming Testing Engineer II is responsible for coordinating and performing IREG testing activities to support the implementation and maintenance of international roaming agreements. This role ensures technical compliance with GSM standards, provides technical support to clients and internal teams, and manages tasks related to roaming partner setup, troubleshooting, and documentation. The engineer will play a key role in both hands-on testing and cross-functional coordination to deliver a seamless roaming experience for clients and customers.

We’re seeking an individual who excels at technical problem-solving, is detail-oriented, and can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong troubleshooting abilities, project management skills, and has experience in the GSM roaming domain. You’ll be proactive, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality client support and project outcomes.-
Some of What You'll Do
Scope of the Role:

Direct Reports: This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports

Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary resource for IREG testing, signaling setup, and technical support for new and existing roaming partners
Schedule, execute, and document roaming testing activities (voice, SMS, GPRS, CAMEL) in accordance with GSM standards
Analyze and troubleshoot SS7 signaling, switch/network translations, and roaming-related network issues
Exchange and maintain test and IR documentation with roaming partners
Manage SIM inventory and coordinate SIM exchanges for testing
Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., network engineering, project management) to resolve support issues
Lead the development and continuous improvement of IREG testing procedures and documentation
Support the implementation and troubleshooting of network data fill and SIGOS testing
Train internal staff and clients on GSM testing processes and standards
Maintain project plans, perform risk analysis, and communicate status updates to stakeholders
Ensure all process controls are adhered to and completed in a timely manner
Participate in the identification and resolution of problems, ensuring accountability and follow-through
Assist with cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with different teams to enhance service delivery
Coordinate and perform IREG roaming testing and troubleshooting
Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams
Develop and maintain process documentation and test plans
Manage technical project tasks and communicate effectively with stakeholders
Ensure compliance with all GSM standards and internal business processes

Experience, Education, and Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3–5 years’ experience in IREG testing, technical customer support, and roaming implementation
Strong technical background in GSM standards, signaling, and network troubleshooting
Experience with formal software testing methodologies (integration, conformance, module, and functional testing)

Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical clients
Strong analytical, multitasking, and organizational skills
Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally up to 35% of the time
