Risk & Underwriting Analyst - CIGNA - Hybrid
About the position
The Risk & Underwriting Analyst is responsible for managing a portfolio of international renewals and overseeing new business quoting activities. The position focuses on driving growth through the acquisition and retention of large-case clients, ensuring competitive solutions and exceptional service throughout the process.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Underwrites an inforce book of business and new business quotes, focused on attaining profitable growth, persistency, and earnings.
ā¢ Performs case-specific risk assessments.
ā¢ Responsible for account level rate development and conducting sales strategy discussions with internal business partners.
ā¢ Proficient with manual rating pricing methodologies and new business and renewal pricing strategies.
ā¢ Responsible for an assigned book of business consisting of accounts in our SME (Small-to-Medium Employer) segment.
ā¢ Works directly with Sales and Client Management teams on new business quotes and renewals, requires the ability to articulate our pricing strategies, risk concerns, and underwriting analysis.
Requirements
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
ā¢ 1+ years of underwriting, finance or related experience strongly preferred.
ā¢ Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
ā¢ Analytical and financial acumen.
ā¢ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
ā¢ Success in multi-tasking environment.
ā¢ Detail oriented and team player.
ā¢ If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
