Job Description
Job Duties: Associate, Software Engineering with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Work with the broad design of an electronic trading flow (order execution cycle, software stack, interconnected systems). Work with underlying business context and trading activity profile (e.g., financial products traded, order types, market structure and rules, regulations) for the electronic trading flow. Design and implement key software-based pre-trade controls through code walkthrough, control coverage analysis, and control design best practices analysis. Validate the design, implementation, and effectiveness of software controls in mitigating market disruption, financial and operational risks in electronic trading flows, and identify potential gaps. Communicate the results and outcomes of validation, including identified gaps to key stakeholders in business and risk, and track gap remediation. Review and approve electronic trading software control changes on an ongoing basis.
Job Requirements: Masters degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Mathematics of Finance, or related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Mathematics of Finance, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include one (1) year of experience (with a Masters degree) OR three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelors degree) with: working with code in structured or object-oriented programming; working with financial products such as bonds, options, or market structure; identifying bugs and design errors in code; and providing timely updates as required to meet management reporting and regulatory requirements.
Salary Range: Annual base salary for this New York, New York -based position is $123,800 -$172,000.
