Revenue Accountant
Role Overview
Reports to: Senior Finance Manager (Head of Finance), working day to day with the wider finance team
Location: Remote. Working hours must overlap substantially with Gulf business hours (GMT+4), especially around month end.
Language: Fluent written and spoken English required. Arabic a plus, not essential.
Level: Mid level. A commercially minded finance operator, not a junior processor.
What you will own
Core responsibilities
⢠Revenue and billing operations: Run the recurring billing cycle end to end: commission and agency invoicing, and the usage based billing inputs, raising invoices accurately each cycle.
⢠Month end ownership: Coordinate with the Head of Finance and the rest of the team to close the month on time.
⢠Sense checking and anomaly catching: Build and run your own checks on the usage data that drives billing.
⢠The bridge to the data team: Translate business and billing needs into clear, well scoped requirements the data and engineering team can deliver against.
⢠Accounts receivable: Track receivables, chase outstanding balances, and keep a clean, current view of who owes what.
⢠Audit and reconciliation support: Prepare schedules and reconciliations and support the external audit alongside the team.
What we are really looking for
⢠Commercially savvy: You understand why the numbers matter to the business, not just how to record them. You anticipate problems before they happen rather than reacting after.
⢠A natural sense checker: You do not trust a number just because a system produced it. You build your own checks and you notice when something is off.
⢠A translator: You can sit between finance, operations and a technical data team, understand all three, and turn business needs into clear requirements, then sanity check what comes back.
⢠Organized and dependable: Things do not slip with you. You manage your own workload to month end deadlines without being chased.
⢠Self managing and communicative: This is a remote role. You communicate clearly and proactively in writing and you do not need close supervision.
Experience and skills
Essential
⢠A finance or accounting background (qualified or part qualified), with hands on billing, revenue operations, or month end close experience.
⢠Strong working knowledge of cloud accounting software.
⢠Strong data and Excel skills: comfortable working with large data sets, building reconciliations and sense checks.
⢠A track record of working with or alongside data or technical teams, and translating between business and technical requirements.
⢠Fluent written and spoken English.
⢠Experience working remotely in a startup or high growth environment.
Desirable
⢠Experience with SaaS or usage based billing.
⢠Experience with consolidation or reporting tools, and with BI or dashboarding tools.
⢠Familiarity with Gulf finance requirements (VAT, withholding tax, e invoicing).
⢠Arabic language.
