Job Details

Responsibilities of the Retail Assistant include acting as the main customer point of contact, supporting them in finding and buying products, operating the cash register, maintaining stock levels, keeping the store tidy, and carrying out other duties as instructed by the Store Manager to increase store profitability and customer satisfaction while preserving company assets.

Duties and Essential Job Functions
• Ensure exceptional customer service by warmly welcoming and aiding clients.
• Manage the cash register and scanner to organize purchases, accept payments, dispense correct change, and wrap merchandise.
• Provide assistance with goods to customers when needed.
• Rearrange, replenish, and rotate merchandise on shelves following company regulations.
• Establish and care for product presentations.
• Perform store maintenance tasks such as trash elimination, dusting surfaces, cleaning floors, and sanitizing restrooms and receiving areas.
• Help with the creation of pavement presentations.

Knowledge and Skills
• Strong capabilities in communicating orally and engaging with others.
• Grasp of safety policies and procedures.
• Competence in understanding and following planograms and guidelines for showcasing merchandise.
• Competence in fundamental cash handling protocols and mathematical proficiencies.
• Capability to manage a cash register proficiently.
• Proficiency in efficiently stocking merchandise.

Work Experience and Education
• Opt for individuals with a high school diploma or the equivalent.

Working Conditions
• Consistent walking and standing.
• Regularly engaging in bending, stooping, and kneeling movements while attending to the checkout area, restocking inventory, and unloading merchandise.
• Competence in pushing and pulling rolltainers to facilitate restocking activities.
• Frequent interaction with merchandise and equipment like handheld scanners, pricing devices, cutting tools, product containers, two-wheel dollies, U-boats, and rolltainers is essential in daily operations.
• Frequently handling loads weighing up to 40 pounds; intermittently lifting items up to 55 pounds.
• Using a step ladder intermittently to access heights up to six feet.
• Fast-paced surroundings with a medium level of noise.
• Occasional experience of outside weather phenomena.
