Research Assistant I
Dalhousie University is Atlantic Canada’s leading research-intensive university, and they are seeking a Research Assistant I to contribute to a survey research study on the economics of climate-smart agriculture in Atlantic Canada. The role involves conducting systematic literature reviews, analyzing survey data, and drafting research reports under the guidance of the Principal Investigator. Responsibilities Complete on-going work on systematic literature review and meta-analysis under general direction of the PI Contribute to draft research ethics application package Work, with support and direction from the PI, to organize, code and analyze survey data Contribute to draft project technical report and publishable manuscripts Participate in regular research project meetings to plan and clarify research tasks as well as work in collaboration with larger national NSERC project team and co-PIs Skills Undergraduate degree with major in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or related economics degree Experience with systematic literature review and meta-analysis, as well as experience organizing, coding and analyzing survey data Experience with econometric analysis of survey data Strong communication (verbal and written) skills including demonstrated technical writing experience Experience using MS Office, particularly Word and Excel, and statistical analysis software (e.g. SPSS, R, Stata) Excellent attention to detail, and analytical and organizational skills Benefits Defined benefit pension plan Health and dental plans Employee and family assistance program Tuition assistance program Company Overview Dalhousie University is internationally known as one of North America’s most welcoming universities.
