Research Analyst, Jr

Overview

RGC supports clients pursuing growth across federal, state, local, and select commercial markets. As part of our integrated capture and proposal ecosystem, the Research Analyst, Jr. is responsible for identifying qualified opportunities, conducting structured teaming outreach, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Business Development lifecycle.

This role requires a detail-oriented, investigative professional who can work independently and enhance team performance through active knowledge sharing.

Key Responsibilities

Opportunity Research
• Conduct ongoing research using HigherGov, SAM.gov, and other procurement systems to identify opportunities aligned to client capabilities, strategies, and growth goals.
• Review solicitation information, procurement forecasts, customer history, incumbent data, and related market indicators.
• Prepare clear, organized opportunity summaries for internal qualification review.

Opportunity Qualification Support
• Collaborate with the Qualifications Specialist as opportunities are validated, scrubbed, and ranked for potential P-Win.
• Maintain up-to-date research tracking, ensuring precise and timely handoff to the Business Development team.

Teaming & Outreach
• Identify potential teaming partners based on requirements, client needs, socioeconomic qualifications, or capability gaps.
• Conduct professional outreach to potential partners, initiate conversations, and facilitate introductions with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Record outreach touchpoints, partner responses, capabilities, and follow-up requirements in a clear, structured manner.

Team Collaboration & Alignment
• Work closely with teammates to ensure research, qualification tasks, and outreach efforts remain aligned with client priorities and BD strategy.
• Coordinate with BD, Qualifications, and Proposal Development to maintain clear shared understanding of opportunity status, next steps, and strategic rationale.
• Share relevant findings and context during team syncs to promote unified decision-making and ensure accurate handoff between stages of the capture lifecycle.
• Contribute to internal meetings, updates, and planning discussions to ensure consistency and alignment across functions.
• Maintain precise documentation and communication habits that support transparency and team cohesion.

Cross-Functional Coordination
• Partner with Business Development to ensure research aligns with Discovery Call outcomes and client-defined targets.
• Provide vetted opportunity information and teaming intelligence to Proposal Development once a client elects to move forward with a pursuit.
• Maintain consistent, professional communication across BD, Qualifications, and Proposal teams.

Required Qualifications
• Experience in government contracting research, pipeline development, capture support, or procurement analysis.
• Strong proficiency in navigating federal/state/local procurement portals, including SAM.gov; ability to learn new platforms such as HigherGov quickly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in outreach settings and summarizing technical requirements.
• Strong analytical capability with attention to accuracy, detail, and interpretation of solicitation documents.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Demonstrated ability to share knowledge effectively without formal management authority.

Preferred Qualifications
• Exposure to DoD or federal civilian agency procurement environments.
• Experience identifying or evaluating teaming partners.
• Familiarity with capture management, basic proposal operations, or opportunity assessment practices.

Pay: $21.00 - $30.00 per hour
