They are seeking a reporter to investigate and report on local news, including city council meetings, and produce at least two byline stories per day.ResponsibilitiesPrimary responsibility is producing at least two byline stories per dayWorking cooperatively with our small team of journalistsDig up and tell the stories of Humboldt CountyCover local news, including city council meetings, local events, press conferences, breaking news and ongoing court casesConduct interviews with sources using your incredible people skillsSkillsAP style knowledge and the ability to quickly compile accurate reporting on a variety of topicsExcellent communication skills – both verbal and written required, including spelling and grammar skillsWorking knowledge of covering court cases and navigating the legal systemTechnical ability with PC laptops, digital cameras, and recording equipmentMust possess and maintain a valid driver's license and have reliable transportationMust be willing to submit and pass the necessary required checksMust be available for shift work.
