Rent Collections Specialist - Non-Profit

Join a dedicated team at a leading non-profit organization as a Rent Collections Specialist, where your efforts will directly impact the lives of residents across New York City, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. In this crucial role, you will spearhead initiatives to address overdue rent payments, collaborate across departments, and empower tenants to overcome financial challenges. Your expertise and commitment to community support will ensure that all residents have access to vital resources and assistance. This is a temp to perm role.

Job Function
? Conduct in-depth evaluations of tenant accounts and aging reports within a diverse portfolio of programs.
? Strategically develop and implement action plans to effectively manage and recover past due balances.
? Partner with Legal, Finance, and Program teams to enhance the efficiency of the collections process.
? Engage with tenants daily to resolve overdue accounts, fostering a supportive environment to help prevent future payment delays.
? Conduct detailed assessments to determine eligibility for HRA-PA (Home Relief Assistance - Public Assistance) benefits.
? Provide valuable insights on financial literacy, helping tenants understand payment plans, public assistance options, and entitlement applications.
? Travel regularly across the five boroughs to engage with tenants and conduct site visits, whether in office or at program locations.

Job Requirements
? 1+ years of Rent Collections experience coming from a NFP setting.
? Experience in Access-HRA & HRA Benefits.
? MS Office specifically MS Excel experience is required.
? Yardi experience is a huge plus.
