Ottit is a full service bookkeeping firm offering cloud solutions to Shopify merchants generating $3-$25M/yr. WeΓΒre seeking a dynamic individual with strong technical acumen and a proactive mindset to join us as a Staff Accountant.
You will be responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping, including preparing financial statements, maintaining ledger accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Staff Accountants are required to actively manage 6-9 clients at any given time.
Qualifications:
ΓΒ Educational Background: CPA, ACCA, or CA finalist.
ΓΒ E-Commerce: A minimum of two years of full time experience with e-commerce brands, specifically Shopify, Amazon FBA/FBM.
ΓΒ Accounting Software: Expert in QuickBooks Online and Quickbooks Desktop (minimum 5 years of full-time experience).
ΓΒ Professional Experience: A minimum of five years of full-time... experience in an accounting firm, demonstrating a thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.
ΓΒ Audit Proficiency: At least one year of audit experience, showcasing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
ΓΒ Work Schedule: Availability to work full-time in the Pacific Standard Time zone, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM PST.
ΓΒ Preferred Experience: Prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firms (KPMG, EY, PwC, Deloitte).
Key Responsibilities:
ΓΒ Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and daily management of new bank feed transactions to maintain accurate records.
ΓΒ Efficiently process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely handling of all financial transactions.
ΓΒ Generate precise journal entries for differentiating loan principal versus interest expenses and for reconciling clearing accounts, balancing sales, and transaction fees.
ΓΒ Diligent fact-checking of accounting data and financial summaries to uphold the integrity of financial reports.
ΓΒ Manage inventory assets and cost of goods sold.
ΓΒ GAAP-compliant closing procedures.
ΓΒ Weekly audits to reconcile e-commerce activities, maintaining high standards of financial accuracy.
