We are passionate about equity for students and employees, support innovative learning, offer great , and professional growth opportunities The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for Occupational Therapists for the South County SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area) of the Student Services and Programs Division. The Occupational Therapist participates as a member of a transdisciplinary team assessing students to determine current levels of motor development, areas of family concern, and the child's developmental areas of need. Incumbents in this classification will be assigned to work with preschool, K- 12 students, and young adults enrolled in a transition program through a SELPA. This position will be assigned to districts throughout South San Diego County. We operate in the southern region of San Diego County and member districts include the elementary and high school districts of Coronado, Chula Vista, National, San Ysidro, South Bay, Sweetwater and the San Diego County of Office programs. This position is part-time and will offer the classified benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, and will participate in the CalPERS state retirement system. Requirements / Qualifications This position requires a combination of education, training and experience which includes an associate degree in occupational therapy, and previous work experience with young children; experience working in a variety of settings including clinic, school, and home; and experience working as a member of a transdisciplinary team. Additional experience working collaboratively with families, and in teaching, is desirable.
