As a Paralegal - Digital Reporter ("DR"), your primary responsibility would involve overseeing civil litigation proceedings and capturing all content, including witness testimony, using digital tools. The Digital Reporter is responsible for: ⢠Overseeing proceedings as an unbiased custodian of the record. ⢠Administering oaths to witnesses and carrying out responsibilities as a State Notary. ⢠Utilizing advanced audio technology to accurately record proceedings. ⢠Accurately annotating case events and terminology for precise transcription. ⢠Performing thorough research and validating information from diverse sources. ⢠Proficiently utilizing digital databases and online research tools. REQUIREMENTS ⢠State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it ⢠Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states) ⢠Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, U.S. civil proceedings ⢠Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment ⢠Confidence to moderate live legal proceedings ⢠Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing ⢠Proficient with technology, including strong keyboard skills ⢠Professional demeanor, reliability, punctuality, and presentability ⢠Willingness to work as an independent contractor ⢠Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required ⢠Willing to work both remotely and in person.
