JOB DESCRIPTION
Transitioning from your current role as a Notary to becoming a Digital Reporter ("DR") could be a significant shift. As a DR, you would oversee civil litigation proceedings and document all aspects, including witness testimony. It involves a more detailed and procedural involvement in legal proceedings compared to typical notarial duties. Are you interested in exploring this transition further?
The Digital Reporter is responsible for:
Β Overseeing proceedings as an independent custodian of the record.
Β Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling State Notary duties.
Β Recording proceedings with high-fidelity audio technology for clear and comprehensive documentation.
Β Annotating case events and terminology accurately for precise transcription.
Β Conducting in-depth research and verifying information from various sources.
Β Utilizing digital databases and online research tools proficiently.
REQUIREMENTS
Β State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it.
Β Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states).
Β Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, U.S. civil proceedings.
Β Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment.
Β Confidence to moderate live legal proceedings.
Β Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Β Comfortable with technology, particularly strong in keyboard skills.
Β Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, punctuality, and a professional appearance.
Β Open to working as an independent contractor.
Β Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required.
Β Willing to work both remotely and in person.
