The Workday IT Financial Analyst serves as a key liaison between Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to support and optimize the organization’s Workday Financials platform, focusing on system configuration, data integrity, and ongoing enhancements to financial operations.ResponsibilitiesConfigure, maintain, and support Workday Financials modules (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Grants, Projects)Manage system updates, releases, and enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to business operationsTroubleshoot issues and partner with technical teams to resolve system defectsCollaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, and operational leaders to gather requirements and translate them into system solutionsAct as a functional subject matter expert for Workday Financial processes in a healthcare settingProvide guidance on best practices for financial workflows and system utilizationDevelop and maintain Workday dashboards, reports, and analytics to support financial decision-makingEnsure data accuracy and integrity within financial systemsSupport regulatory reporting needs, including healthcare-specific requirements (e.g., cost reporting, compliance reporting)Identify opportunities to streamline financial business processes through automation and system enhancementsLead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives and system optimization effortsSupport integration efforts between Workday and other enterprise systems (e.g., EHR, supply chain, payroll)Ensure system controls and configurations align with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA considerations when applicable to financial data)Participate in audits and provide documentation and support as neededDevelop end-user training materials and documentationProvide ongoing user support and education for Finance and operational teamsAssist in onboarding new users and promoting system adoptionProvide advanced configuration, troubleshooting, and production support across Workday HCM, Financial Management, and Security AdministrationPartner with HR and Finance teams to translate business requirements into scalable, supportable Workday solutionsPerform root cause analysis and resolve complex production issues in collaboration with Workday and third‑party vendorsDesign, configure, and support Workday security domains, business process frameworks, and role‑based access modelsEnsure compliance with applicable regulations such as SOX, HIPAA (where applicable), and data privacy standardsSupport audits by producing security documentation, reports, and evidenceImplement least‑privilege access models and monitor security‑related changesSupport Workday tenant management across Production, Sandbox, Preview, and Implementation environmentsParticipate in Workday biannual updates, impact analysis, regression testing, and feature adoptionDevelop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational proceduresFollow ITIL‑aligned incident, problem, and change management practicesAct as a technical mentor to other analysts and consultantsEvaluate new Workday features and recommend enhancementsParticipate in roadmap planning and digital transformation initiativesSupport Agile and DevOps‑aligned delivery modelsSkillsBachelor's degree in information systems, Finance, Accounting, or related field3–7 years of experience supporting Workday Financials or similar ERP systemsStrong understanding of financial processes (GL, AP, budgeting, procurement)Experience with reporting tools within Workday (e.g., Workday Report Writer, dashboards)Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutionsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsExperience in a healthcare or hospital system environmentWorkday Financials certification(s)Experience with Workday integrations (e.g., EIB, Studio, APIs)Knowledge of healthcare financial operations (e.g., cost accounting, grants management)Familiarity with compliance frameworks relevant to healthcare organizationsCompany OverviewAkumin is a leading U.S. It was founded in 2014, and is headquartered in Tampa, Florida, US, with a workforce of 1001-5000 employees.
