[Remote] Windows System Administrator

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Encore Talent Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator to join their Infrastructure team in a contract-to-hire capacity. The individual will support a large enterprise server environment primarily consisting of Windows servers and will be responsible for server maintenance, operating system upgrades, and infrastructure support.ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled server maintenance, patching, and remediation activities during designated Sunday maintenance windowsExecute operating system upgrade projects, including migration efforts from Windows Server 2016 to Windows Server 2022Administer and support a large-scale server environment of approximately 2,000+ serversManage and support Windows Server infrastructure (approximately 95% of the environment)Provide support for Red Hat Linux servers within the enterprise environmentInvestigate, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure-related tickets and incidentsDeploy security patches and ensure compliance with organizational security standardsCollaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance activitiesUtilize monitoring, security, and remote access technologies, including ZscalerDocument procedures, configurations, and maintenance activitiesParticipate in after-hours support and on-call rotation as neededSkills4+ years of Systems Administration or Infrastructure Support experienceStrong experience administering Windows Server environmentsExperience performing server patching, maintenance, and operating system upgradesKnowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and core Microsoft infrastructure technologiesExperience troubleshooting server, operating system, and infrastructure issuesFamiliarity with enterprise ticketing systems and incident management processesUnderstanding of security best practices and vulnerability remediationAbility to work independently in a remote environment and manage maintenance activities with minimal supervisionExperience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) serversExperience with enterprise-scale server environmentsFamiliarity with Zscaler or similar security platformsExperience participating in infrastructure on-call rotationsExposure to automation and scripting technologies such as PowerShellBenefitsRemote opportunityCompany OverviewThe more you’ve been looking for.
