[Remote] Water/Wastewater Engineer

ERG is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead and support a range of water infrastructure projects, working directly with communities to assess needs and develop solutions for safe drinking water and water quality.ResponsibilitiesIndependently assess community water and wastewater infrastructure needs and identify practical, cost-effective solutionsDevelop clear, well-organized planning documents and technical reports, including Preliminary Engineering Reports (PERs)Prepare preliminary and detailed project designs that municipalities can use to secure infrastructure fundingLead meetings with community stakeholders to gather information, present recommendations, and foster project support and engagementDepending on your experience and expertise, contribute to additional project areas, such as evaluating and promoting innovative water and wastewater treatment technologies, analyzing the design, cost, and environmental impacts of infrastructure projects, or supporting other related technical initiativesSkillsBachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state, or the ability and commitment to obtain a PE license within 12 months of hire5+ years of relevant experience in municipal water or wastewater system planning and design, with exposure to a variety of treatment systems; experience with funding, financing, and governance frameworks for Capital Improvement Programs is a plusWillingness and ability to travel as needed to support community projectsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to diverse stakeholdersBenefitsHealth and dental insuranceLife insuranceLong-term disabilityEducational benefitsFSAsA generous 401k planProfit sharingAn EAP11-20 paid vacation days per year10 paid holidays per year56 hours or more of sick leave (based on the state you work in) per year (pro-rated for part-time)Company OverviewERG is a consulting and environmental services and consulting firm.
