Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Gainesville Regional Utilities' Water/Wastewater Systems Engineering Department is currently seeking a Supervising Utility Engineer. This position involves coordinating utility engineers and technicians in various engineering projects related to water distribution and wastewater collection, including planning, design, and construction management.ResponsibilitiesCoordinating utility engineers and technicians in a variety of engineering projects including water distribution and wastewater collection pipeline planningCondition Assessment of Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection pipelinesDesign of Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection, and Reclaimed Water pipeline projectsConstruction management and oversight of a wide variety of utility projectsCoordination with various engineering consultants, agencies and contractorsDeveloping annual work plansDeveloping, implementing, and maintaining an annual budget for rehabilitation and replacement of water, wastewater, and reclaimed water pipelinesPreparation, review, and approval of engineering plans utilizing AutoCAD, specifications, and permits for water distribution and wastewater collection system projectsManaging infrastructure rehabilitation programs, such as lining of gravity sewer mains and manholes, smoke testing, and integrity testingSignificant coordination with internal departments, outside consultants, and contractors regarding construction, rehabilitation, or repair of water and sewer mainsSupervising, coordinating, and training entry level and experienced engineers, technician, and other support personnel, including selection, promotion, discharge and other appropriate personnel actionsAssisting in the coordination with City, County, and State agencies regarding planning, design, permitting and construction activities associated with water and wastewater utility relocation within public rights-of-waySkillsBachelor of Science in Engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited educational institutionEight (8) years of experience in the area of assigned engineering responsibility which includes a minimum of two (2) years of project management, lead or supervisory experienceValid Florida Class E Driver's License requiredValid Engineering License issued by Florida Board of Professional Engineers (FBPE)Proficient with MS Office Suite or equivalent required; knowledge of software utilized in the engineering discipline, proficiency as required by individual departmentBachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering preferredValid State of Florida Professional Engineer license preferredExperience with Civil 3D and ArcGIS preferredCompany OverviewGainesville Regional Utilities deals with multi-service disruptions like electricity, water and gas for retail and wholesale customers.
