Job Opening: Contract Family Law Legal Assistant / Paralegal β Washington State (Remote)

Pay: $20 - $50/hour depending on experience

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team on a contract to hire basis. This position is ideal for a seasoned paralegal and legal assistant who is highly organized, knowledgeable about Washington State family law procedures, and confident working across multiple counties, including King County, Snohomish County, and other smaller jurisdictions a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Prepare and draft family law documents including petitions, declarations, parenting plans, child support worksheets, and final orders
β’ E-file and submit documents through local court systems and portals
β’ Maintain case files and track deadlines
β’ Conduct legal research related to family law issues in Washington State
β’ Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
β’ Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, mediations, and trials
β’ Track and manage billing hours in accordance with contract requirements
Required Qualifications:
β’ Minimum 3β5 years of experience as a paralegal in Washington State family law
β’ Demonstrated experience handling cases in Snohomish County, King County, and other smaller counties
β’ Strong knowledge of Washington State family law rules, court procedures, and local filing requirements
β’ Proficient in Clio, Microsoft Office, legal case management software, and online court portals
β’ Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
β’ Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Certification from an ABA-approved paralegal program or equivalent experience
β’ Experience supporting multiple attorneys or managing a high caseload
β’ Familiarity with remote work tools (e.g., Zoom, cloud-based legal systems)
Compensation:
β’ $20 - $50/hour (Contract Position)
β’ Many hours available; flexible scheduling possible
