The role involves developing sales strategies, leading a team, and expanding the company's market presence.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the sales strategy for Northwoods' government market businessIncrease qualified pipeline generation across state and local government agenciesImprove sales forecasting, pipeline visibility, stage management, and reportingSupport complex opportunities involving multiple stakeholders, formal procurement processes, and long sales cyclesPartner with sales team members on strategic pursuits and executive-level customer engagementsIdentify opportunities to expand Northwoods' presence in existing and emerging marketsContribute to annual revenue planning, territory strategy, and market prioritizationLead, coach, and develop a team of six quota-carrying sales professionalsEstablish clear expectations, operating rhythms, and performance standardsSupport hiring, onboarding, and development of future sales talentCreate a culture focused on accountability, customer outcomes, and executionConduct regular pipeline reviews, deal inspections, and coaching sessionsBuild a disciplined sales organization capable of supporting future growthPartner closely with Product, Customer Success, Professional Services, Marketing, and Executive LeadershipProvide market feedback that helps inform product direction and go-to-market strategyAlign sales priorities with company objectives and customer needsSupport strategic partnerships and business development initiatives where appropriateRepresent Northwoods in customer meetings, industry events, and executive discussionsSkills12+ years leading quota-carrying within GovTech, B2B SaaS, or enterprise technology sales teamsExperience managing sales organizations with multiple direct reportsDemonstrated success leading complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and procurement processesStrong understanding of forecasting methodologies, pipeline management, and sales operating cadenceExperience recruiting, developing, and managing sales talentAbility to evaluate performance, provide coaching, and maintain accountability across a sales organizationExecutive presence and the ability to represent the sales function at the leadership levelExperience working cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Customer Success, Professional Services, and executive teamsTrack record of delivering measurable revenue growth, bookings performance, or quota attainmentWillingness to travel as needed to support customers, opportunities, and team developmentExperience selling into state and local government agenciesExperience within Health and Human Services, public sector technology, case management, workforce systems, benefits administration, or related marketsExperience with HubSpot or comparable CRM platformsExperience in a private equity-backed or growth-stage software businessExperience pursuing large government opportunities involving formal evaluations, procurement processes, and executive stakeholdersCompany OverviewBanyan Software is an IT company that helps in acquiring, building, and growing software businesses.
