[Remote] VP Engineering - AI SOC Start-Up. Paying up to $300,000 OTE plus stock
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. StealthWatch is a fast-scaling AI SOC start-up focused on building autonomous AI technology for security operations. The VP of Engineering will lead product delivery, shape the engineering culture, and build a high-performing team to drive the company's technological vision.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Own the execution, architecture, and quality of the full product stack ā including platform, knowledge engine, agentic workflows, and deployments
ā¢ Write and review code from day one, taking deep ownership of core parts of the system
ā¢ Recruit, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team that moves fast and takes pride in craftsmanship
ā¢ Translate product vision into actionable roadmaps that deliver real outcomes for customers
ā¢ Collaborate directly with product, founders, and customers to ensure impact, reliability, and continuous learning
Skills
ā¢ Proven leadership experience in early-stage, high-growth technology companies
ā¢ Deep technical expertise ā you still enjoy jumping into code and solving hard engineering problems
ā¢ Strong capabilities building secure, scalable cloud systems; bonus for on-prem or air-gapped deployments
ā¢ Track record of hiring and developing high-caliber technical talent
ā¢ Customer-obsessed mindset: You care about solving real operational challenges, not building complexity for complexity's sake
ā¢ Proficiency or familiarity with technologies like Python, Go, TypeScript, and Docker
ā¢ Experience in security, data platforms, or autonomous/agentic AI systems
ā¢ Background with complex systems at scale ā think Splunk, Databricks, CrowdStrike, etc
ā¢ You bias toward action and outcomes ā a doer, not a deck builder
ā¢ You're equally comfortable being the architect, the debugger, and the mentor
