They are seeking a Virtual Physical Science Teacher for grades 7-12, responsible for delivering course content in an online environment and supporting students' academic progress.ResponsibilitiesLearns the entire K12 curriculum for assigned grade levels and is able to demonstrate knowledge of how state standards align with itUnderstands how both diverse and unique characteristics of students and their families impact required supportAugments course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous toolsCreate, develop and submit lesson plans weeklyOrients students to their course, communicates requirements, sets and enforces deadlines, maintains regular office hours and conducts instructional sessionsTakes ownership for student’s academic progress and attendance communicating high expectations and showing active interest in student’s achievementCollaborates with grade-level team, administration, interventionists, Special Education teachers and instructional coaches regarding instruction, resources, interventions and data-driven decision making to support student successProvides instruction to help students master K12 curricular objectivesPrepares students for high stakes standardized testsEstablishes and maintains positive rapport with families and regularly communicates with students and learning coaches/parents to keep them adequately apprised of the student’s progress and issuesSupports learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues in a virtual classroom environment, balancing the flexibility of the K12 curriculum with proper enforcement of Academy policies and proceduresGrades submitted, required student work and maintains grade bookGenerates formal and informal reports regarding student progress, alerting administrators to concerns about student performance and progressCreates and manages a home officeSupports students and learning coaches with the set-up and maintenance of their learning environment including basic computer troubleshootingUtilizes data analysis and data driven instructionFollows Staff Handbook expectationsProctors site-based examsFollow the Community Events Policy in Staff handbookCollects and analyzes formative and summative assessmentsTeaches scheduled Class Connect sessions for specific subject areas and homeroomCollaborates with peers in order to provide a positive experience for studentsBuilds community by contributing to school message boards, newsletters and eventsTravels to and participates in staff meetings, school outings, marketing events, state testing, professional development sessions, and other experiencesMaintains records regarding students in accordance with school policy and state requirements; prepares reports regarding students and classroom matters as directedProvides direct instruction to students as neededParticipates in committees as requiredSkillsBachelor's degreeThree (3) years of teaching experienceMeet requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) Licensing: Appropriate licensing qualifying you to teach Physical ScienceActive Indiana state teaching certification for appropriate content area and grade levelStrong interpersonal skills emphasizing tact, promptness, patience and courtesy; ability to establish a professional, effective rapport with studentsProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Microsoft Office, Power Point and Outlook, as well as Internet research methods and report writing techniques; Utilizes computer software associated with curriculum; obtains additional training in technology as requiredAble to read data and determine what steps are needed to assist students academically on an individual and/or classroom basisAble to adapt learning plans to meet different needs and learning styles;
