[Remote] Vice President, Payment Operations & Partnerships

ABC Fitness is the #1 software provider for fitness businesses globally, and they are seeking a Vice President of Payment Operations & Partnerships to lead and scale their global payments operations and partner network. This role involves managing end-to-end payment operations, driving strategic partnerships, and implementing AI and automation to enhance client experiences for 37K merchants on their platform.ResponsibilitiesLead and scale global payment operations across merchant onboarding, disputes/chargebacks, reconciliation, settlements, and payoutsManage and expand strategic partnerships with PSPs, banks, and fintech providers, including commercial negotiations and performance optimizationBuild and lead a high-performing global team, establishing KPIs, SLAs, and a culture of operational excellenceDeploy AI/automation use cases such as dispute management, exception handling, reconciliation matching, onboarding risk assessment, anomaly detection, and payment failure recoveryOversee global funds flow, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong financial controls across reconciliation, settlements, and reportingOwn chargeback and dispute strategy, improving prevention, win rates, and compliance with card network rulesOptimize merchant onboarding to deliver a seamless, compliant, and scalable experience across global marketsDevelop real-time monitoring, alerting, and incident response capabilities through a centralized payments command centerDrive payment performance improvements (authorization rates, routing, cost of acceptance) through data, analytics, and partner strategiesPartner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Finance, Risk, and GTM teams to align payments strategy with company growth and platform evolutionSkills15+ years of experience in payments, fintech, banking, or SaaS, with senior leadership in payment operationsProven track record of scaling global payment operations, including reconciliation, disputes, onboarding, and payoutsExperience driving automation and transformation initiatives, including AI/ML-based solutions in operationsDeep understanding of payment ecosystems, including PSPs, acquiring, card networks, and alternative payment methodsStrong experience managing strategic partnerships and complex vendor ecosystemsFinancial acumen with experience managing large-scale payment flows, reconciliation, and reportingDemonstrated success leading global, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environmentExcellent executive communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience building or scaling payments platforms or global commerce infrastructureFamiliarity with regulatory frameworks (PCI, NACHA, PSD2, etc.)Experience implementing AI/automation in financial operations or payments environmentsBackground in multi-country, multi-entity payments environmentsBenefitsBonuses and commissionsPurpose led company with a Values focused culture – Best Life, One Team, Growth MindsetTime Off – with our open PTO policy, we offer flexibility in how and when you take PTO!Days of Disconnect – once a quarter, we take a collective breather and enjoy a day off together around the globe. #oneteamParental & Pawternity Leave – we offer leave for when your family grows by two feet or four paws!Best Life Perk – we are committed to meeting you wherever you are in your fitness journey with a quarterly reimbursementMedical/Dental/Vision coverageEAP – we get you help when you need it.
