[Remote] Vice President, Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy

Talent Executives Group is seeking a highly accomplished Vice President of Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy to join their Chief Accounting Officer's organization. This high-impact leadership role is responsible for overseeing all financial reporting requirements, driving technical accounting policy, and serving as a key advisor to senior management on complex accounting matters.ResponsibilitiesLead the preparation of annual Form 10-K and quarterly Form 10-Q SEC filingsOversee statutory and regulatory financial reporting to U.S. federal agencies, state agencies, and government-sponsored entities for applicable subsidiariesServe as a primary point of contact for external auditors, legal counsel, and external stakeholders on financial reporting and accounting policy mattersMaintain and recommend updates to significant accounting policies; research accounting and reporting treatment for new and complex transactions under U.S. GAAPMonitor and assess the impact of changes in accounting standards and reporting regulations on the organizationProvide guidance on complex accounting matters across business units and functional teamsOversee Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance for financial reporting cycles, including internal controls documentation and testingDrive process improvement and automation initiatives within the financial reporting functionProvide ad hoc analyses supporting business transactions, strategic initiatives, and management information needsLead, mentor, and develop a team of financial reporting and accounting policy professionalsAct as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, including the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Investment Officer, on transactions and accounting mattersSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's degree preferredCPA (Certified Public Accountant) license or equivalent requiredMinimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with significant focus on financial reporting and accounting policyPrior experience in a publicly traded company with hands-on SEC reporting responsibilityStrong technical accounting knowledge of U.S. GAAPProven experience developing and implementing accounting policies and proceduresExceptional written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of financial statement footnotes and presentation to C-suite and Board Audit CommitteeDemonstrated leadership and team development capabilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteBig 4 public accounting experience highly desirableWorking knowledge of Oracle Fusion and Workiva WdeskExperience in the mortgage or banking industryBenefitsThis role operates under a hybrid work model.
