The role involves executing interaction and visual design work while applying user research findings to create user-centered designs for both internal and member-facing tools.ResponsibilitiesTranslate user research findings, business requirements, and technical constraints into clear, well-reasoned design solutionsDesign interaction flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes for desktop and mobile applicationsDeliver prototypes of varying fidelity β€” from low-fidelity click-throughs to polished interactive prototypes in Figma β€” to effectively communicate design intent to stakeholders and development teamsProduce high-fidelity mockups in Figma that adhere to Premier's design system and visual standardsParticipate in design critiques, incorporating feedback from peers and design leadership to improve deliverablesCollaborate closely with product managers and developers throughout the project lifecycle to ensure design integrity is maintainedFollow the user-centered design process and principles as directed by design leadershipMaintain consistency with interaction design standards and flag potential exceptions to design leadershipSeek opportunities to improve the user experience while maintaining alignment with established design patternsActively build working relationships within the UX team and across product and development teamsApply findings from user research activities β€” including usability tests, contextual inquiries, and user surveys β€” to inform design decisionsCollaborate with UX researchers and product managers to understand research insights and translate them into actionable design improvementsParticipate in usability testing sessions and assist in documenting observations and outcomesConduct light industry research to stay current on UX trends, patterns, and emerging best practices relevant to assigned productsManage personal project milestones, deadlines, and deliverable schedules for assigned workKeep cross-functional teammates informed on design progress and decisions throughout the project lifecycleCapable of managing up to 3 concurrent projects within an assigned business lineMaintain an understanding of Premier's organizational structure and product portfolioPerform all administrative duties as assigned, including attending team meetings, submitting time and expense reports, completing required trainings, and performance self-evaluationsWork with supervisor to identify performance improvement opportunities and actively improve in those areasSkills2 or more years of applicable experienceHigh School Diploma or GEDProficiency in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity designStrong visual design fundamentals β€” typography, color, layout, hierarchy, and compositionWorking knowledge of interaction design principles and user-centered design methodologiesAbility to interpret and apply UX research findings and business direction to design workAbility to take clear direction and execute design work quickly and accurately, iterating efficiently based on feedbackUnderstanding of design systems and component-based designStrong communication skills β€” able to clearly articulate design decisions to both design and non-design stakeholdersAttention to detail and a commitment to producing polished, high-quality work2+ years of hands-on, professional UX or product design experience within a company environmentA portfolio demonstrating sustained, full-time design work across multiple projects or productsExperience designing for both web and mobile contexts preferredExperience working within or contributing to a design system is a plusBachelor's degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field preferredBenefitsHealth, dental, vision, life and disability insurance401k retirement programPaid time offParticipation in Premier’s employee incentive plansTuition reimbursement and professional development opportunitiesPerks and discountsAccess to on-site and online exercise classesCompany OverviewPremier, Inc. is a leading technology-driven health care improvement company.
