[Remote] Underwriting & GIO Consultant Sr. - Policy and Training

They are seeking a Senior Underwriting & GIO Consultant to develop training programs and policies for the underwriting and Group Insurance Operations teams, ensuring efficient workflows and sound risk acceptance.ResponsibilitiesIn collaboration with management, the Quality Assurance/Audit team, and other functional departments, this person will play a key role in the development of Underwriting and Group Insurance Operations training material. Training material will be focused on (but not limited to):Providing a thorough understanding of our manual rating approach, including base rates and factors that drive claims cost changesUnderstanding of EIS, OAC, PACS, VUE, DataMart and related core source systems for UW and customer informationModifying existing contract training aides and guidelines and/or creating new guidelinesModifying existing medical underwriting training aides and guidelines and/or creating new guidelinesResponsible for delivery of in person training modules. Develop and execute training as needed – including syllabus, schedule, post-training support etcSupport and participate in the training and change management efforts necessary for UW and Group Insurance Operations to function at a high level during the core systems transformation processResponsible for upkeep and maintenance of the training libraryIdentifies and leads development and/or revision of UW memorandums, Policy, and Procedure documents, which includes collaboration with partners in Underwriting, Quality Assurance/Audit, Contracts, Claims, Compliance and field partnersResearches available technology or methods of storing training and P&P and Training data in a logical and user-friendly mannerResponsible for upkeep and maintenance of the Policy & Procedure resource librarySkillsBachelor of Science in Business, Risk Management or other related area7+ years' experience in Underwriting, Contracts or related fieldThrough understanding of manual rating, including base rates and factors that drive claims cost changesUnderstands PACS, DataMart, Vue and other related (or comparable) systemsKnowledge of both pre-sale and renewal underwriting, and can convey UW concepts clearly and accuratelyWorking knowledge of contract issuance, compliance, and new customer implementation proceduresPossesses some project management acumen, and has a desire to grow and develop this skill setDemonstrated attention to detailStrong organizational skills; able to prioritize work with limited oversightExcellent communication and collaboration skillsDisplays basic knowledge of excel, power point and other Microsoft office applicationsBenefitsAn annual performance bonus for all team membersGenerous 401(k) company match that is immediately vestedA choice of three medical plans (that include prescription drug coverage) to suit your unique needs.
