[Remote] Underwriting Associate, Car

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Lemonade is seeking an experienced underwriting professional to join their Underwriting Operations, Car team. This role involves analyzing applications and coverage requests, reviewing insurance policies, and communicating decisions to customers, all while enhancing the customer experience and ensuring sound risk management. Responsibilities Review insurance policies for eligibility and insurability in accordance with established underwriting guidelines and risk standards Evaluate and process requests for coverage, ensuring accuracy and appropriate risk assessment Communicate underwriting decisions to customers through clear, empathetic, and informative email correspondence Identify trends, patterns, and recurring issues in submissions or outcomes, and provide actionable feedback to strengthen underwriting guidelines and processes Collaborate with AI-driven underwriting tools to enhance speed, consistency, and accuracy in risk evaluations Contribute to continuous improvement of the customer experience by identifying workflow friction points and recommending process enhancements across teams Skills 1+ years of underwriting experience (preferably in Car) and 2+ years customer-service experience Strong analytical skills and a creative problem solving approach Excellent written and verbal communication skills Adaptability to changes in process and system functionality Ability to work independently and manage a personal workload Ability to perform repetitive, essential tasks with a high degree of accuracy Ability to multi-task and follow up on pending requests High attention to detail for repetitive, essential tasks Enthusiasm about learning and adapting to the exciting world of AI – a commitment to exploring this field is a fundamental part of our culture Benefits Equity Benefits Company Overview Lemonade is a digital insurance company that uses artificial intelligence and behavioral economics.
