Job Responsibilities:
As a transcriptionist, you will be responsible for creating accurate and high-quality transcripts of audio, video, typed, or handwritten materials. You will work on a variety of projects, including:
Oral history interviews with WWII veterans, women in academia, farmers, midwives, and more
Focus groups, financial forecasts, and quarterly reports
Tech webinars, commencement addresses, and interviews about NGO work, educational reform, and healthcare access
TV shows and other media content (excluding medical transcription)
Requirements:
Typing Speed and Accuracy: Minimum of 80 wpm with 98% accuracy
Language and Style: Strong language, style, and punctuation skills, with the ability to follow our in-house style manual and project-specific instructions
Research Skills: Ability to verify names and terms via brief internet research
Technical Requirements: Reliable internet connection, email address with no shared access, and ability to return transcripts as .doc files
