The role involves leading planning and execution of managed systems, ensuring quality improvement, and collaborating with business stakeholders for systematic enhancements.ResponsibilitiesDrive Software Development Life Cycle activities and align EmblemHealth business and technical resourcesResponsible for managing systems and all technical functions related including design, developChampion continuous quality improvement activities to increase the maturity of the IT teamResponsible for leading the planning, execution, continuous improvement, and maintenance of managed systems in coordination and cooperation with other enterprise teams as appropriateDrive the planning sessions to ensure proper coordination and that capacity considerations are managed appropriatelyEnsure results are complete, accurate, and within time/quality/budget constraints to meet commitmentsProactively seek opportunities to improve and lead the efforts to deliver on those opportunitiesEnsure issues that are escalated to the team are responded to and closed out in a timely and accurate mannerConsistently review and monitor results and their adherence to SLAsPerform research and identify opportunities to develop standardized business processes and technical methodologies for interfacing with the team and systemOversee research, development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of technology for managed system capabilities and upgrades; interface with business clients to ensure concerns are managedCollaborate with business stakeholders to develop/propose ideas related to systematic improvementsDevelop and review system design and technical implementationsReview error summaries with internal teams and recommend opportunities to improve implementationsReview any communications/technical notes from associated vendors and ensure all relevant technical teams are involved in any upgradesDevelop and execute on a technology and process roadmap for owned systemsMay develop, mentor, train, and guide other staff membersServe as escalation point for complex issue resolutionContinuously seek to improve efficiency and quality across owned systemsChampion and monitor adherence to industry leading technology management practices within the teamSkillsBachelor's Degree required5 – 8+ years of relevant systems and technology experience required5+ years of full stack development and/or architecture experience required2+ years of supervisory experience working with internal and vendor teams requiredAbility to lead and work within cross-functional teams and matrix organizations requiredStrong communications skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal) with all types/levels of audiences requiredProficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.) requiredAbility to effectively manage multiple business priorities and expectations with relatively fixed resource capacity requiredAbility to collaborate with and support colleagues to solve problems requiredBroad understanding of the healthcare industry and EmblemHealth's position in the industry preferredUnderstanding of healthcare business and IT strategies preferredCompany OverviewEmblemHealth is an insurance and wellness company that offers health benefits to consumers, employers, and government purchasers.
