[Remote] Technical Writer: Jira/Confluence

They are seeking an experienced Technical Writer who will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining high-quality documentation that supports technical processes and projects within Jira and Confluence. Responsibilities • Confluence Documentation • Create, clean up, and maintain well-organized Confluence spaces • Design and enforce: • Page hierarchy and navigation • Templates and formatting standards • Cross-linking for discoverability • Turn evolving project information into clear, structured documentation • Maintain documentation accuracy over time (ongoing maintenance, not just one-time cleanup) • Jira Review & Translation • Work directly in Jira to understand: • Ticket status • Dependencies • Risks and blockers • Summarize Jira activity into concise, plain-English updates or reference materials • Publish summaries in Confluence, Jira, or another lightweight format as appropriate • Not responsible for creating or managing Jira tickets • Collaboration • Partner asynchronously with engineers, PMs, and stakeholders to clarify context • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or outdated documentation and proactively address them • Operate independently with minimal oversight • Strong, hands-on experience with Atlassian Confluence and Jira (regular day-to-day use) • Proven ability to: Structure and maintain Confluence spaces and Translate Jira activity into readable documentation • Excellent written communication and organizational skills • Experience working independently in remote environments • Comfortable using bolthires Workspace (Docs, Sheets) • Background in technical writing, documentation management, or knowledge management • Experience supporting engineering, operations, compliance, or regulated teams • Familiarity with large or complex documentation environments Skills • Strong, hands-on experience with Atlassian Confluence and Jira (regular day-to-day use) • Proven ability to: Structure and maintain Confluence spaces and Translate Jira activity into readable documentation • Excellent written communication and organizational skills • Experience working independently in remote environments • Comfortable using bolthires Workspace (Docs, Sheets) • Background in technical writing, documentation management, or knowledge management • Experience supporting engineering, operations, compliance, or regulated teams • Familiarity with large or complex documentation environments Benefits • Medical • Vision • Dental • Life and disability insurance • 401(k) plan Company Overview • At Robert Half, we prioritize your security—if you believe you've encountered a scam or fraudulent recruiter, please report it immediately to It was founded in 1948, and is headquartered in Menlo Park, California, USA, with a workforce of 10001+ employees.Its website is Company H1B Sponsorship • Robert Half has a track record of offering H1B sponsorships, with 1 in 2024, 31 in 2023, 32 in 2022, 18 in 2021, 22 in 2020.
