The Technical Product Manager Sr will lead the product technology roadmap for the Property & Casualty insurance portfolio, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical execution while managing the product roadmap and mentoring junior product managers.ResponsibilitiesTranslate insurance product strategy into a scalable product technology road map, ensuring alignment with regulatory deadlines, organizational priorities, and system dependenciesShape, own, and communicate the product technology roadmap, incorporating input from senior leadership and stakeholders, and keeping all parties informed about dependencies, risks, and trade-offsLead, coach, and develop a team of technical product managers responsible for the technical implementation of strategic initiatives including rate, rule, eligibility, form, and pricing changes defined by Insurance Product and R&DDrive strong agile scrum practices, ensuring backlog health, Sprint readiness, clear roles, and predictable delivery across teams while regularly updating stakeholders and customers on progressEnsure high quality requirements, including well-structured epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability back to product, R&D, or compliance source documentsPartner with engineering and program management to plan releases, de-risk delivery, identify cross domain impacts, and validate technical feasibilityManage the product backlog with a focus on regulatory accuracy, operational readiness, customer experience, platform stability, performance, and competing featuresRepresent the Technology perspective in cross functional discussions and decision-making forumsDefine, measure, and report key delivery and product metrics including Sprint throughput, defect trends, cycle time, and technical risksLead ongoing transformation and continuous improvement, including maturing Agile/Scrum practices, improving requirements workflows, increasing delivery predictability, and enhancing documentation and tooling across product delivery teamsServe as a subject matter expert on how insurance product changes flow through system and impact quoting, underwriting, binding, policy issuance, and downstream processesSkillsBachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience in product management5+ years product management and/or product design5+ years managing complex initiatives from initiation to completion using product management processes and best practicesExperience in defining and implementing product metrics to track performance and successExperience handling all stages of product deliveryExperience contributing to tech discussions and product strategyExperience managing technical products or online servicesExperience representing various customers and stakeholders during planningAbility to build ground-up solutions where none exist including all steps of ideation, problem discovery, customer usage, design, implementation, and monitoringStrong critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations, assess information, and make sound decisions based on data and evidenceAbility to work as a partner and peer to your counterparts in engineering, program management and quality assuranceAbility to navigate through ambiguity and drive strategic directionStrong skills in managing relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business goals and product developmentProperty and Casualty Insurance experience preferredBenefitsCompetitive compensationFlexibility to work from anywhere in the United States for most positionsPaid time off (vacation time, sick time, 9 paid Company holidays, volunteer hours)Incentive bonus programs (potential for holiday bonus, referral bonus, and performance-based bonus)Medical, dental, vision, life, and pet insurance401 (k) retirement savings plan with company matchEngaging work environmentPromotional opportunitiesEducation assistanceProfessional and personal development opportunitiesCompany recognition programHealth and wellbeing resources, including free mental wellbeing therapy/coaching sessions, child and eldercare resources, and moreCompany OverviewMercury Insurance has offered quality insurance for personal auto insurance to homeowners insurance to mechanical breakdown protection.
