[Remote] Tax Reporting Specialist
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Aston Carter provides world-class corporate talent solutions and is seeking a Tax Reporting Specialist. This role involves managing and reconciling complex payroll tax returns and providing recommendations on payroll/tax system issues.
Responsibilities
ā¢ File and reconcile complex payroll tax returns for Federal, State, SUI, Local, and FUTA
ā¢ Research payroll/tax system issues and provide recommendations to management
ā¢ Train and mentor co-workers on tax reporting processes
ā¢ Participate in the W-2 process
ā¢ Recommend and lead the implementation of process improvements
ā¢ Research and review payroll tax regulation changes for potential impacts
Skills
ā¢ At least 5 years of experience in paying and filing payroll tax returns, including Federal, State, SUI, Local, and FUTA
ā¢ Proficiency in Peoplesoft Payroll Tax and ADP Master Tax systems
ā¢ Advanced Excel skills, including V-Lookups and Pivot Tables
ā¢ Strong knowledge of tax law and accounting principles
ā¢ Attention to detail and strong critical thinking abilities
ā¢ Proficiency in conducting tax research
ā¢ Excellent interpersonal communication skills
ā¢ Effective mentoring abilities
ā¢ Strong time management skills
ā¢ High School diploma/GED equivalent or higher with a minimum of 4 years multi-state/local tax and 1 year customer service experience, OR Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management with a minimum of 4 years multi-state/local tax and 1 year customer service experience
ā¢ Experience in recognizing and implementing process improvements
ā¢ Quick adaptability to new processes and environments
