[Remote] Tax Manager (Direct Tax)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Remote is a company focused on solving the challenges of global employment compliance. The Tax Manager ā Direct Taxes will manage complex direct tax matters across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance and driving global tax efficiency through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Oversee global direct tax compliance, ensuring timely and accurate preparation and submission of corporate income tax returns, withholding tax returns, and other direct tax filings across all company entities
ā¢ Partner with external tax advisors to support filings, documentation, and reporting obligations in multiple jurisdictions
ā¢ Ensure ongoing compliance with local tax authorities, mitigating risk and maintaining strong relationships
ā¢ Identify, monitor, and address potential tax risks, proposing actionable solutions
ā¢ Assist in managing audits and inspections, liaising with tax authorities to resolve issues efficiently
ā¢ Provide strategic tax guidance on cross-border transactions, corporate structuring, and tax-efficient planning aligned with business objectives
ā¢ Keep up-to-date with changes in global tax laws and proactively adapt processes and strategies
ā¢ Mentor and guide a team of tax professionals, supporting their development and day-to-day execution
ā¢ Work closely with finance, legal, HR, and other departments to ensure seamless tax compliance and reporting
Skills
ā¢ Proven experience in international direct taxation, preferably in a consultancy or multinational corporate environment
ā¢ Strong understanding of global corporate tax rules, cross-border compliance, tax treaties, and EU Directives
ā¢ Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams in a fast-paced environment
ā¢ Capability to analyze complex data sets and provide actionable insights to senior management
ā¢ Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
ā¢ Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder communication skills across regions and functions
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in Law, Economics, Accounting, or related field
ā¢ Post-Graduate or Master's degree in Taxation is a plus
ā¢ Startup or fintech experience is a plus
ā¢ Prior remote work experience is advantageous but not required
