Remote Tax Manager

Position OverviewSeeking a Remote CPA / Tax Manager to join our team in a generalist capacity. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across a variety of clients and tax scenarios, while also having the autonomy and flexibility of a fully remote environment.
You will play a key role in managing client relationships, reviewing tax work, and providing strategic guidance to individuals and small-to-mid-sized businesses.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review:
- Individual (1040), business (1120S, 1065), and basic corporate returns
- Manage a portfolio of clients across multiple industries
- Provide tax planning and advisory services
- Review work prepared by staff and provide mentorship/coaching
- Communicate directly with clients regarding tax strategy, questions, and planning opportunities
- Assist with year-end planning and projections
- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations
- Support process improvements and firm growth initiatives
- Active CPA license (required)
- 5+ years of public accounting experience
- Strong background in individual and business taxation
- Experience reviewing returns and managing client relationships
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with tax software (e.g., UltraTax, CCH, Drake, or similar)
- Experience in a regional or mid-sized firm
- Exposure to multi-state taxation
- Interest in advisory and client-facing work
- Prior leadership or mentoring experience
