[Remote] Tax Analyst, State & Local Tax (SALT) Indirect

The Tax Analyst in the State & Local Tax Indirect tax group will be responsible for day-to-day indirect tax services, including preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns, and providing support to clients on various tax compliance matters.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate on various client service engagement teams that support a wide range of clientsInteract with and provide support to clients on various sales and use tax functions, compliance, and consulting mattersPreparation, review, and filing of sales and use tax returnsAnalyze and reconcile data to support the sales and use tax compliance processRetrieve, process, and finalize tax data from the clientâs system through GTMâs sales and use tax processes and softwareReconcile clientâs internal sales and use tax general ledger accountsLog, research, and respond to client tax notices and inquiriesAssist the team and leadership in implementing, upgrading, and maintaining tax technology tools used to support clientsâ processesPrepare, review, and file client business registrationsFile refund claims, protests, and voluntary disclosures as requiredImplementation and support of procedural changes due to regulatory requirementsConduct research to remain current with legislative changes made to applicable tax lawsSupply data as required for audit supportSkillsBachelor's degree in accounting or related field of study0-2 years of state and local sales and use tax experience preferred; however, will consider an entry-level candidate with technical aptitude and interest in a career in taxProficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite softwareAbility to use standard tax applications and research tools, preferredWorking knowledge of relevant information utilized in tax filingsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong analytical and research skillsExcellent organization skills and attention to detailAbility to meet project deadlines with a focus on detailsAbility to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environmentCapable of building and maintaining strong relationships with internal team members and client personnelAbility to foster relationships both internally as well as with clientsExcellent writing, communication, and tax research skillsAbility to work additional hours as needed and to travel to local client locations0-2 years of state and local sales and use tax experience preferred; however, will consider an entry-level candidate with technical aptitude and interest in a career in taxAbility to use standard tax applications and research tools, preferredBenefitsESOP program offered: build long-term wealth alongside your career, at no cost to youFortune 500 client exposure from your first dayCollaborative, mentorship-driven team cultureRecognized as a Best Place to Work and INSIDE Public Accounting Top 100 FirmCompany OverviewGTM is a leading provider of corporate tax services.
