HEI Hotels & Resorts is a leading manager of full-service branded hotels and luxury independent hotels across the U.S. They are seeking a Taskforce Associate Director of Finance to assist the Director of Finance in directing financial activities, safeguarding assets, and preparing financial reports in accordance with accounting principles and company standards.ResponsibilitiesPerform all accounting functions in the event assistance is neededEffectively schedule, monitor, and evaluate controllable departmental expenditures to stay within the restraints of the established budget through: labor management and purchasing control systemsEstablish and monitor scheduling of all accounting associates, including Night AuditSchedule personnel consistent with the volume of business and needsEffectively plan in order to meet demands of both guests and staffAssist in Producing Financial Statements within designated time frame for preliminary distribution to hotel management and to meet HEI Corporate requirementsVerify compliance with Finance SOP manualParticipate in and critique asset inventoriesMaintain records storage area in compliance with record retention requirements of relevant government agenciesPreparation and knowledge of sales tax returns, as well as any other applicable tax liabilitiesManage and oversee all Accounts Receivable functions, including collection calls as neededEnsure the A/R aging percentages are in compliance with SOPVerify credit cards are processed every night-by-night auditVerify cash deposits are made timelyAssist Director of Finance with the Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts each periodReview any problem accounts with Director of Finance and adjust entries to the general ledgerTrain associates in job responsibilitiesComply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basisPerform any other job-related duties as assignedSkillsB.S. in AccountingOne year experience in Hotel or Hospitality related Finance and AccountingKnowledge of Hotel Financial Statements and reconciliation of A and L accountsAnalytical approach to problems with high regard for detail and accuracySound administrative and managerial skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skillsHave proficient training, coaching, and counseling abilitiesEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etcTravel is required at least 75% of the timeBenefitsCompetitive Medical and Dental programs through Anthem Blue Cross Blue ShieldVision insurance programs ​through EyeMedVacation, Sick and Holiday programsPet insurance through the ASPCASupplemental, Spousal and Child Life insuranceShort and Long-Term Disability plans401(k) Savings Plan with matching fundsDiscounts through our 'YouDecide' and Hotel Room Discount programsCompany OverviewFounded in 1985, HEI Hotels & Resorts is one of the nation’s leading privately held hotel investment and third-party management companies.
