[Remote] System Administrator, Linux

They are seeking a proactive System Administrator with strong automation expertise to provide remote support for Linux infrastructure, manage the OS lifecycle, and drive automation for infrastructure deployment and operations.ResponsibilitiesProvide remote support for Linux infrastructure across data center and cloud environmentsManage the full OS lifecycle, including installation, deployment (Kickstart, VMs, containers, bare metal, Solaris Zones), patching, and upgradesSupport and maintain standard Linux services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, NFS, Samba, RAID, LVM)Deploy and support web servers, web proxies, version control, and other third-party open-source applicationsDrive automation for infrastructure deployment, configuration, and operations using scripting (Bash, Python) and tools (Ansible)Troubleshoot and resolve complex server issues (performance, crashes, client-impacting incidents) and deliver detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reportsImplement security best practices, support vulnerability management processes, and protect systems and dataLead technical projects from requirements gathering and design through successful completionChampion new initiatives, proactive problem solving, and best practices with a strong focus on customer successParticipate in an on-call rotation in an escalation capacitySkills8 to 10 years of overall experience in IT infrastructure administration, with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience in LinuxStrong experience in Linux Server administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, and others)Experience in bash scripting, automation for task automation, and system administrationUnderstanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Firewall basics)Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical systemsProven experience supporting infrastructure within data center hosting environmentsStrong troubleshooting methodology and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skillsAbility to work independently as an Individual Contributor and manage tasks effectivelyRelevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, DevOps, or similar) are a plusBenefitsCompetitive total rewards package.Blog during work hours; take a day off and volunteer for your favorite charity.Flexibly work remotely from your home, there’s no daily travel requirement to an office!
